Jody's 90 year young Mother is in the hospital in Calif. with Congestive Heart Failure. Please pray for a speedy recovery for this sweet lady... And Pray for Jody's safe travel to be with her Momma.

JodyMac is so appreciative of all the prayers and well wishing from all of you.
Her mother was released from the hospital yesterday and appears to be getting stronger. Once she feels that she can leave her mother, Jody will return to Carlsbad.
JodyMac will check in with us soon.

Thank you all very much for your wishes and prayers.
My mother is suffering from congestive heart failure, and there is not much more they can do for her. She is taking 8 pills a day (a real chore for her to remember ). She was released from the hospital on, I believe, Wednesday last, and she is doing relatively well, considering her heart problems and her age (she'll be 91 in March). She is, to me, very frail, deaf as a doorknob (refuses to wear hearing aids) and oh so skinny. But her spirit and laugh are there, and she gets around just fine with her cane. We had a good Christmas dinner with her - we picked up a small rosted chicken and other stuff from Albertson's and she ate a good portion - more, she says, than she ever eats.
There is a lady who lives behind her house in her cottage, who walks mother's dog twice a day and checks in on her several times a day. Matter of fact, it was this lady who took mom to the hospital last week (thank God she was there). We have arranged for a couple people who know her and have worked for her to take turns checking on her throughout the day and make sure she is doing OK and is taking her pills.
My brother went home to Santa Barbara for Christmas with his family, but he will be back with her on New Years Eve day for probably a week.
Again, thanks for all your prayers and support. It is very much appreciated

Let's renew our prayers for JodyMac and her mother.
JodyMac left today (Sunday, February 28) for California again. Her mother fell and broke her hip. Her mother was in surgery this morning but I don't have any updates to report at this time.
I will post updates . . .

Thanks, all, for your kind words and thoughts.
Mother came out of surgery and recovery in good shape, considering she will be 91 this month  She will probably get out of the hospital this afternoon (Wednesday). She will require 24-hour care, which my brother - bless his heart - has already set up. 3 of the caregivers (qualified to do such) she has known for several years and is quite comfy with them. The other 2 that Owen has arranged for are Filipino RNs, sisters. Owen has already had bars installed in her bathroom and they are going to build a wheelchair ramp at her front door. Also, all carpets are being removed and put in storage.
I will be glad to get home - I don't eat this much at home and I have probably put on 5 lbs! The food in Coronado is exquisite, not to mention tasty. Yesterday morning Owen took us a a cutsie little place where I ate THE best quiche I have ever had. We are going back tomorrow I generally don't eat anything that I cannot pronounce or don't recognize, but that has gone out the window while down here!
Gas prices in CA are outrageous. Most we paid was $3.09, least, $2.92. UGH....
